It’s the major thing holding me back from buying ad free. Trying to view dms instantly crashes the app and it’s very frustrating.
There is a large update coming down the line soon so it may be in that version.
The dev was most likely targeting Lemmy version 19.xx for feature updates and had to wait for it to be stable and most instances updated to 19.
I know Lemmy.world has only recently updated to 19 as it was released then about 4 or 5 point releases came out in a single month.
Dms crash every time?

Switching from any inbox page to any other page in the inbox if you don’t use the Bottom Nav inbox button.
My bug report from last Sept is still all valid info (except the Sync version.)
Have you made a buy report? I haven’t encountered this.
You use the left drawer to get to the inbox? There’s an issue on GitHub about changing views from the left drawer/More Actions inbox buttons. you can get there, but you have to use Bottom Nav.

There hasn’t been any development on the app for the last half a year or so, so I wouldn’t count on it.
He made a post about an update coming about 10 hours ago.
Ooh need to find it, thanks!
For future reference, this was always LJ’s MO. He never was one for frequent communication between updates, he’d vanish for months without a word and then re-appear out of nowhere with a big update.
So if that happens again, don’t assume the project is dead. That’s just how he operates.
