Fuck you reddit 2.0, took you long enough. Thanks though, we’ll stop seeing your crap posters pollute our comment section from now on.

90% of people we ban come from world. Very funny that they said they saw a rise of hate speech from our instance though considering the worlders we ban are fucking genocidal maniacs and fascists. You can check the modlog (it’s unfortunately federated), we are one of the tamest instances when it comes to banning people and deleting comments/posts.

For any worlder that was based and liked interacting with lemmygrad (you will notice we did not ban good faith participants), I recommend you make an account on a third-party instance that federates with us, like ml or ee until they also defederate from us because we have principles 🙃

Fuck israel, Palestine will be free a month from now mark my words 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

On top of that, for the worlders finally breathing free again now that the scary tankies are away, you think the USSR wasn’t communist or whatever. You base that on whatever you’ve been taught in school. We’ve read things. We’ve actually gone beyond whatever our high school teachers said and looked into the USSR for ourselves. If you’re not cowards you will debate us about communism and “totalitarian” regimes, we’ll wipe the floor with you. Bet you don’t even know where the world totalitarian comes from or who coined it without looking it up.

And we retain our perfect track record of not blocking real instances while you further isolate yourselves from anything that might cause you some amount of discomfort. Really good democracy you got going there where wannabe tech bros instance admins decide for you what you’re allowed to see, must be those liberal values I hear so much about.

the one instance I’ve hated the most has been .world, solely because 9/10 times when there’s a pending report, that report was about a .worlder saying some horrible shit. and that .worlders will report our comments and posts for “violence advocation” when all we’re doing is discussing the conflict.

I did just a little bit ago.

Their take on the conflict in Palestine follows the logic of Zionist organizations, and generally, they show that they don’t know much about the world outside of their narrow Western perspective. So, good fuckin’ riddance.

I’m not sure if .world or Blahaj is worse when it comes to far-right bullshit. Glad we don’t seem any of their spewing from either anymore though

I was really grateful when blahaj-zone left. It hurt me to the bottom of my soul that they had made such a mockery of blahaj. 196 was the first and only community I blocked.

The thought invective that forms in my head for whenever I see blahaj now is “oh, the consumer queers who think consumption is morality is praxis.” And then just like the momentary mental blips that occur due to .works and .world, I go on about my day because settlers don’t deserve to rent out that kind of brain space unless they’re going to actually pay me.

It’s just more of a symbol for our kind, and it’s a harmless adorable plushie. Even Hitler had a dog who loved him. I wouldn’t deny a blahaj even to Caitlyn Jenner.

You are a far kinder and compassionate person than I am; there’s quite a few people who should be kinfolk orientation-wise that I absolutely would not piss on if they were on fire. Maybe my heart has gone hard.

this whole time i thought it was just a quirky ikea name(where the ‘consumer’ slander comes from); does this mean it’s finally my time to hand in my queer card and go back to screwing cishets and hating the ones i actually get into a relationship with

They’re an aggressively pro-NATO, pro-US, anti-communist instance. They would ban anyone left of Obama, and had some very questionable users. Our friends at Hexbear interacted with them much more than we did and there was a significant amount of drama. You can read stories in that post. They defederated from us pretty much immediately.

Is the news that we’re right? I can’t tell you how many fashy comments I’ve had to remove from worlders. Oh also when you make a report on Lemmy, it gets sent to all applicable parties. I received the reports because the comments were made on Lemmygrad, but so did .world because they concerned someone from their instance.

They never got banned from world 🙃

Can’t say its surprising that the reddit / instance is defederating from all the communist ones.

Its unfortunate because people who sign up there won’t be exposed to an anti-imperialist / non-western-supremacist perspective, and will essentially get the exact same takes that they see on reddit.

They’ve created what they’ve wanted, a reddit island in the fediverse. They’ll continue to defederate from any instance that challenges US imperialism.

At least it’ll be less moderation work for us tho.

Truly unfortunate as it’s one of the biggest instances. But completely foreseeable as they were seething pretty intensely as they got whipped up into a genocidal rage at the propaganda around the conflict in Palestine.

If this were 2003 they would have defederated from us over calling Bush a liar about WMD’s in Iraq no doubt.

We can always set up our own. I was considering propping it up myself if no one else had; but idk the kind of reach it’d have.

I’m not worried about reach per se, I just don’t see a point if it’s gonna end up absolutely miniscule. That’s hard drive space that could be saved in that case, I figure. Like, if the demand is upwards of 50-100, then I absolutely would, but if we’re talking like ten people tops, I’m not sure that’s the most economical use of a community on this instance.

The resources required are presumably proportional to activity

Valid point tbh; I like to tinker with html in my free-time-- “as minimal clutter as possible” is my mantra where code is concerned. I don’t want to create clutter.

The sole reason they did it is because they support the Illegal Occupation of Palestine, which is about as gross as it is predictable for them. While the users are a mixed bag, the moderators have made it abundantly clear that they are a nazi bar through their actions.

In case you were wondering what you’re missing out on since the defederation

Let me guess, it was all because of the Israel-Palestine stuff and they thought we were “aNtIsEmEtIc!1!1!1!” while they gobble up orientalist propaganda about Hamas.

    Also,

Palestine will be free a month from now

I think that’s sadly too optimistic. It will probably take at least a year for even the most optimistic chance of Palestinian liberation, though I hope it is even sooner.

    Lol, ok.

It’s easy to make another account if someone ever misses their content, but i don’t see a difference while sorting by “everything” for now.

    For those interested :

Being defederated is way better than being banned sitewide, it’s a good alternative.
They call themselves “.world”, but they’re really just on the side of the west in the end.
It could add a bit of mystery if talking to them on another account : « communism is so dangerous that they don’t want you to hear about it »

I mean inshallah, but I really don’t expect that… Inshallah though

Anyway, good riddance! There’s some occasional sus or bad people from the other instances, but for .world it really was almost all of them.
