I wonder how much it hurts to shoot yourself in the foot.

I wonder what lies they will tell themselves about how it’s not their fault when Trump decides to support Israel twice as hard as Kamala has.

You’re seeing it from the outside so you won’t understand them. They don’t have the need to lie when things worsen. Even They’ve already expected things will be worst under Trump. Just to aid you to understand their mindset: Suffering 100x more by your enemy is much more endurable than the bitterness of being betrayed by your own kind.

That’s a stupid bit of mental gymnastics.

I don’t enjoy cutting off my nose to spite my face, regardless of who is causing it.

      Who is the they here?

The family members of besieged Lebanese and Gazans?

it’s obviously silly to think they believe Trump will save them, but given the Democratic party wouldn’t even let a Palestinian speak at the party convention, it’s pretty clear that the genocide will continue regardless.

I think you’re missing the point. These people probably won’t vote for Trump or Harris and that’s enough to swing the election. What has Harris done to earn their vote? Be not Trump? That probably doesn’t mean a whole lot when your entire extended family is dead at the hands of American bombs.

My question for you is who will you blame if the Dems lose? Will you be angry at Muslims in Michigan or angry at bureaucrats in DC that ignore the pleas of besieged civilians?

If they don’t vote for anyone then I understand and sympathize. If they vote for ultra-genocide to spite Democrats then they get what they asked for.

Can you explain what other interpretation there is for the 2nd sentence?

Because, I can only read it as

they can get what they ask for

and “what they ask for” either refers to “ultra-genocide” or “spite”.

It’s pretty straightforward - if they vote for Trump and Trump gives Israel the go ahead to wipe out all Palestinians then the ones here that voted for that got what they asked for. Pretty simple.

If they vote for the person who says “I will genocide them” then yes… the people who voted for that person deserve the result.

Sucks for the Palestinians who don’t get a vote in it though.
