I think the T. Rex exhibit has cured my son’s fear of dinosaurs. We showed him a mask from the Jurassic Park TV show today and he loved it.

All the petrol stations on Plenty road are the same price from the ring road out to Mernda, regardless of company. Then the first petrol station south of the ring road is 15-20c cheaper. Very interesting
I think that’s how Slack and Atlassian got so many logos for their websites. Look through the free tier for recognisable brands and download the press kit
He handled things well, I’m proud of him. There was even a booth that played animal sounds quite loudly. My other boy was happily pressing the buttons for the animals to sound and he got a little cautious but held it together.
The T. Rex exhibition is great too. They have the real skull in a display where it’s easier to see and a cast of it with the rest of the skeleton. I hadn’t seen the triceratops yet either so we checked that out as well. The triceratops skeleton was black so it reminded me of The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here by Alice in Chains
It’s the grand opening of the new dinosaur exhibition at the museum this weekend.
One of my boys is a bit scared of dinosaurs but we’ll check it out anyway. He can join the dino dance at the end if he needs to get away from things
It worked! But I must have done something in the incantation differently because my phone didn’t ring until AFTER the shower and I was mostly dressed
About to perform the phonecalls summoning ritual called a ‘shower’.
If performed correctly, your phone will ring right in the middle of it when you’re washing your hair
Watched some of The Piano Teacher last night. I remember catching a scene from it on SBS years ago and I always wondered what the movie was.
There should be Steam life achievements for figuring out things like this
I’ll just try to finish off my wishlist. I’m terrible at actually buying games.
I get an email that a game I wishlisted is on sale and I just go, ‘that’s great, good for them’ and never actually buy it
Sometimes you see a nice job and start imagining your life if you got it. I saw a nice communications job that could be based in the Morewell/Moe area. It would be nice to live in a small town with no commute and a cushy corporate job, but you can’t get too carried away with these things.
I’ve been fucked over by the job hunt in almost every way imaginable so I don’t believe I have a job until I receive the first paycheck
It does tend to lose connection after it goes to sleep so that could be part of it. I’ll try Fedora if I’m still having problems as well because I’m running it on my laptop and really like it.
This laptop is so old windows stopped supporting the wifi drivers years ago. I’m lucky it can connect to the internet at all
I think I’ll give this a proper go. This laptop is from the age where you could actually pull them apart and upgrade the RAM so it’s possible to get into the internals a bit.
I’ll get some good PC cleaner because the spacebar and left SHIFT also stick when you press them, giving no feedback if the computer has registered the input
That is a good deal and I have considered it. This laptop has a bit of sentimental value because it looks really nice and I used it through uni and my first jobs. I’ll go down this path if the need to update is more urgent
Dongle could be an option as long as it’s one of those small flat ones like a logitech receiver.
The laptop is on the other side of the room to the server cabinet and the fewer cables plugged into this laptop the better. I do bring it over to the dining table and plug it into the ethernet for a stable connection when I’m doing troubleshooting.
No internet at times could be a good thing. It has enough access for updates and downloading new software, then it cuts out so no chance of rogue browsing
I remember all the older shows and they have the bias of me watching them when I was a kid. I want to sift through the Netflix CGI rubbish and find stuff I could tolerate having on in the loungeroom during a workday
That’s the boxer motor with two head gaskets for ya. But it’ll be a good car, not point getting something so nice and not looking after it
That’s the way to do it. I just apply and move on, it probably looks bad when I do get a call because I can’t remember the place or the position because it was all so long ago in jobseeker time
I spilt coffee on the kids laptop a while ago and is started having issues, mainly it will disconnect from the wifi and you have to restart to connect again. I spent ages trying to fix drivers and reinstalled Mint but it still happens, so it might be a hardware issue.
Should I go to some computer guy to get it cleaned out or is it not worth it for a 10 year old laptop intended for a pair of toddlers?
Is that show good? I’m on the lookout for bearable kids shows
The Coles app sucks, and so do the apps of all their other brands. Woolworths is better but someone needs to optimise their queries because search is slow as hell
