I wonder if they will open up the core version to support it. Guess we will see.

Starter doesn’t support OIDC so free synapse I go even though I’d like a matrix server with high availability.
Servo is an active project still just not owned by Mozilla.
I have a very very loud zoo animal choo choo train with no off switch or volume control as a gift for my kid. To make matters worse we opened it in the bedroom! It is the best of features.
I want them to write an actual KOSA bill that would introduce privacy laws and would prevent this stuff. But nah it’s more like Kill Online Safety Act and do nothing about the real problems.
Gotta cook the radroaches when they come through the ground.
Yeah was kinda sad since android got like 3 releases in the last 3 days but SDK is not updated yet I guess. I’m hoping unified push will work with it better since it stopped working this month.
Unfortunately the rust SDK / android version still doesn’t support native / simplified sliding sync. I updated synapse to v1.115.0 and cannot login. Apparently you have to use the proxy server sliding sync to login then toggle a developer setting, logout and log back in to use native one on android.
Its using OpenID so yes it would support those. But it would support a lot of others as well. Authelia, keycloak, and authentik are a few examples that are open source and self hostable. Its nice to have SSO for all your services even in a homelab.
You could destroy the planet less by reducing their lifespan, only letting females live since the boys tend to eat more due to their hormones and stuff, and utilize every part rather than just the skulls!
Edit: would it be less? Idk this stuffs hard to quantify.
But that depends, if you are doing a human skull farm than of course it is. If your enemy would have lived to 80+ years otherwise this is 100℅ more environmental friendly. Also the skulls reusable I guess.
NUCs are where to go. Intel chips good for transcoding and 3 year warranty. Had 1 die out of 3 die in 4 months and got a full replacement. Got another so I’m running 4 now and been about a year. Running tons of stuff and measured power to about $2.5/mo/pc.
Ah yeah it sucks to host on your actual computer, especially if you are using the laptop portably. I just wanted to point out storage isn’t too bad if setup right. Best of luck finding a good host for your needs!
Curious here how is storage an issue? Lemmy is 90% text and if you do the proxy for pictures its like 10%. If you use pictures from elsewhere and don’t use pictures it’s all text. I have had lemmy hosted for over a year now and it’s using under 35GB. I have a not that subscribes to top posts on larger instances so I should have a lot of communities loaded.
Edit: oh yeah Pictrs integrates with S3 api now so you can offload image storage to cloud for pennies.
The reason I got the OG pixel fold was because the dimensions were very similar in size to the pixel 5 and I love it. Bigger phones than that don’t work well with my smaller than average hands. That being said I don’t like how the newer one is less wide. Also yes there are non flagship phones that are smaller, but I want pixel due to update support and their A series which tend to be smaller always lacked wireless charging which I prefer to have.
Sacrificing between modern safety / environmental standards for privacy it all sucks. If only we could have privacy laws.
Maybe it’s a distraction for cars constantly listening to you. Their privacy policies are horrid and they don’t have a mic listening feature.
Sure I’d love that. The chance of that happening for a rural area to cross states when my city got it’s first bus a couple years ago is unlikely to happen for at least a decade probably 3 with the crappy politics and the amount of trump supporters around here indicates they are very against it. People around here think their pickup trucks are better for the environment than an EV.
Meanwhile my state had somewhere around 30% spike in EVs last year and now is doing a yearly road EV tax since it has grown so much. We need more public teansit, but EV cars is not just a solution for car makers, it’s literally the only option especially for consumers in the near future, which we need to do change now and in the future not just hoping for public infrastructure to come that will let everyone travel anywhere.
Mine has that too. Its cool and not so cool. Camera gets dirty, but I can spray to clean it. Driving in rain you just see water kicked up from the tires so it’s all you see. Its also harder to gauge distance IMO. On the plus side, if you have the back window blocked by heads in the back seat / recently purchased a big object like a TV, it’s a great backup so you can see out the back. Also, mine at least seems too use a wide angle camera, this is pretty nice since you can see blind spots and more lanes when on 3+ lane highway.
I looked into the github repo for the open source version and found the images used. It looks like it uses the open source synapse app, so it suppprts whatever the synapse server supports. Unfortunately the operator wouldn’t fully support the new matrix 2.0 sliding sync / OIDC auth currently and since its the same synapse server it doesn’t support high availability which partially ruins the point of k8s.
That being said it does seem to have some support for workers, but it seems to be a WIP and that definitely could save some time setting up workers since it can get quite complex. They have a basis for making secific worker types where you simply specify the type and it would theoretically start the worker and have it properly work with your proxy.
