Retro Game Corps is a good place to start when it comes to looking the the different retro handhelds. Reviews are detailed showing the limits of each device and often comparisons to other devices.

I split mine into a few categories:
I only keep the playing list expanded and relatively small to avoid choice paralysis.
I found the better way to use Mastodon was to follow users/hashtags of interest and then filtering out most of the topics which produce ragebait. It means my feed isn’t as busy but I also get none of the ragebait.
I sometimes go through my gb cart collection for ideas on what to play next on my handheld emulator. Mario Picross though is such a good game to wind down with at the end of the day.
Seems like for most people they would be better off cancelling most streaming services and only renewing for a month or two when enough new content is there rather than having multiple ongoing subscriptions.
They had the data, they just repeatedly ignored it since it didn’t tell them what they wanted to hear.
Until there is anything formal from Apple allowing alternative browser engines I’d wouldn’t really expect too many updates from Firefox on their custom engine project.
I felt this a bit too. I never played it back in the day so I was playing it fresh as each game released as part of the PC master collection. Playing Halo 1 without nostalgia googles is rough as that campaign has not aged well. It’s starts decent but then reusing the same levels made the second half a mediocre slog.
These reviews have been great. I never really considered looking into FPS games on the DS/3DS and you have now convinced me to try Bionicle Heroes.
For most people the Pokémon IP is a much bigger draw than a potentially better game though. Game Freak are in a position where due to the Pokémon IP they can release a game riddled with issues and still sell well.
I remember that achievement at times being such a pain but it was so worth it just to send the damn thing in to space!
I’ve started doing similar logging my games but not going as far as to write my own reviews.
It’s interesting looking back though a year and seeing what I played over a calendar year. Last year I tried Castlevania and Metroid for the first time and both series really pulled me in. This year seems to be the 3DS Fire Emblem games and Final Fantasy series (never played them before and now I’m up to FF7).
$1 for a 14 day trial seems pretty reasonable especially considering if you time it around when you know you have a fair bit of time you could play through quite a few games in that time.
I had done that a few times where there was a game I was interested in and just got a trial and completed it during the trial period making it a very cheap game rental.
I just bookmarked the subscriptions page instead so I never really saw the standard homepage.
Enjoy! It’s a great start to the series. I played the GBA version for the first time this year and it was worth completing.
I think this is what I’m seeing too. Some of the magazines I followed on social I couldn’t find here so they hadn’t federated yet but I’m sure that will all resolve soon.
That’s awesome! Looking forward to trying the app either on Artemis.camp or in the eventual public release :)
It’s how I ended up going with my 351V a while ago (this is prior to the current generation of handhelds) and it’s been perfect for what I’m playing on it.
