Please tell me how you’re imagining getting people like Peter Thiel, Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk to “work together instead of fighting” and give up their hoarded wealth. What short of sheer force would compel them to do that?

Utopian socialism would be nice if it worked but it patently does not. The bourgeoisie have a very fine time controlling the wealth of the world and they have nothing to gain by accepting democracy. Socialism, like any economic order, is only going to be a reality if it is enforced with violence. If somebody tries to undo the collective ownership to the means of production they will have to be stopped by force, just as force is applied today to stop people from violating bourgeois property rights.

Ukraine under his leadership has been acting up to the highest ethical ideals of the EU.

I agree with this sentence but I think we have very different ideas of what the “ethical ideals of the EU” are.

The upper class in Denmark are just as big piss babies about paying their taxes as they are anywhere else. Ordinary Danes might like to say they’re happy to pay taxes but in reality few of them would pass the opportunity to have their car fixed off the books or to buy beer in Germany to avoid the Danish alcohol tax.

AFAIK it was not the Nazis who used the term but it was coined by anglophone observers to describe Nazi economic policy.

I’ve heard nothing but bad things about American schools and they’re said to revoltingly underfunded especially in poor and non-white communities. Seen from an outside perspective it seems like all American schools do is multiple choice tests, bullying, pledge of allegiance, school shootings, eat hot chip and lie.

Austerity and culture war has consequences, one of them is that students are not given then education they need.

The average Dane is firmly convinced that Denmark is the most perfect place on earth, a paradise that the rest of the world can only dream of. It follows that any reasonable person who’s not already a Dane must have a desire to become one. If they don’t, there must either be something wrong with them or they simply haven’t heard enough about how good Denmark is.

Fun fact: Some places in Europe “bilingual” is used as an euphemism for students with middle eastern backgrounds. When used like this it carries lots of negative connotations and authorities try to limit the concentration of “bilingual” students at schools as they’re seen as the source of all kinds of trouble.

There’s this corner store in my town where you can also pick up packages. Everything about it seems half-assed, their opening hours are short and in the middle of the day and the store has some displays with overpriced expired candy although they couldn’t be arsed to fill all the shelves with something. It’s hard to know if they’re open or not because they can’t be bothered to put up signs on the sidewalk or something.

Based on the smell, the energy level of the staff and the wide variety of joint paper on sale in almost 100% sure the place is a front for weed.

I’ve been searching a lot for someone contemporary who can deliver a speech the same way Parenti could and I haven’t really found anyone. Maybe it has something to do with the way academia has changed to be much more tightly controlled, leaving no room for dissidents.
