The Edmonton Oilers are bringing in an old pal of Connor McDavid's.The club is signing winger Connor Brown to a one-year contract, the team announced. The deal is worth $775,000 plus $3.25 million in bonuses, according to DailyFaceoff's Frank Seravalli.The contract will only count for $775,000 on the cap in 2023-24 but has an average annual value of $4 million.Brown and McDavid tore up the OHL together with the Erie Otters from 2012-14. Brown, who's three years older than McDavid, led the team in points both seasons, racking up 128 in 2013-14.Brown, 29, played only four games with the Washington Capitals last season after suffering a torn ACL in October. The year prior, he tallied 10 goals and 29 assists in 64 games with the Ottawa Senators. He's a hard-working, two-way winger.
