“Watch the Irishman Suffer” is practically it’s own genre of Star Trek episode. Chief O’Brien needs a break, he’s just a regular dude who has witnessed his own death too many times.

My only problem with this is rom isn’t an idiot. Well most of the time, sometimes they wrote him painfully stupid.

She definitely used that terminology to describe Dukat and commented loudly on how weirdly horny he was for Kiera as much as possible in his presence.

Garak definitely encouraged her to do that last one. He knows a delightful agent of chaos when he sees it.

Now I really need some beta canon, preferably a proper cast radio play, chronicling their shenanigans. Plus a smidge of maudlin/harrowing, for that minty aftertaste.

I can definitely see Marriner and Garak being the weirdest, most chaotic besties possible while simultaneously being ready to stab each other whenever required

He would definitely be coyly keeping up his charade, like he did with Julian throughout the show, but Mariner just keeps citing all this actual evidence that Star Fleet has on him now. I could totally see a scene where he says something along the lines of, “You underestimate me, Mariner. I may be a simple tailor, but I am still a Cardasian. We are a hardy people.”

And then she responds, “Didn’t you get addicted to a pain relieving device, implanted in your brain to make you resist torture, because the station was a little too cold?”

Garak ends up really liking her because of her competence, and willingness to call him out, which gives him opportunity to practice his lies, that he hasn’t had for a long time on DS9.

              Headcanon accepted.

They’d totally be besties because Marriner is just sociopathic enough to absolutely cut through his bullshit AND play the game

I don’t think I have rooted for a character in a show before but I really really wanted to see Nog and Rom succeed.
