Not to hate because we’re still enjoying it, but does anyone else feel like the show generally fails to capture this kind of feeling from the comic? I feel like the comic does a great job of pointing out the sheer absurdity of so much human activity, while the show seems to be more of a generic sitcom with strangely-dictating aliens instead of humans.

Pyle has a bunch of rules for Strange Planet comics, one of those is an absolute word limit for each comic, so he’s always trying to come up with creative ways to say something in the fewest words possible.

Fully agree. The joke works in 4-6 panels, a couple times a week. Just enough to not get old. The show wears down the bit every episode.

Please tell me the show is an anthology of short 5-10 minute stories because how could there possibly be good long-term characters/plots based on this comic

I’ve watched the first episode and while it’s definitely not a contender for best show of the year, it’s not bad… it’s a feel-good show with some jokes here and there, perfect for when you want to wind down a bit and don’t want anything too serious or that demands too much attention
