As a Contra Costa County jury watched, an Oakland man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend attacks his lawyer with a pen and tries to attack a prosecutor.
I suppose because it’s harder to prove murder. Since he failed, they’d have to prove motive, and he could argue he only wanted to harm the lawyer.
But assault is about facts, no feelings.
