I think you have to have played (or at least watched someone play) an MMORPG before, where big groups go and attack one monster. It’s usually really well coordinated, where everyone has a role and needs to be careful with their timing. The big monsters don’t appear often, so just completely sabotaging an attempt like this is both incredibly frustrating and also really relatable. Especially at lower levels, there’s always one person in the group who just doesn’t understand how the whole thing works.
Though this (Leroy Jenkins) was apparently fake and just a joke.
No I get all that, it’s just that most people I knew that thought it was funny had never played WoW or any other similar game, so I don’t understand what they were getting out of it.
