Hi! Just a quick announcement that I plan to drop support for Lemmy 0.18 in the
Voyager app on March 18 2024. Due to authentication changes in lemmy 0.18->0.19,
this means that you will be unable to login to instances running lemmy 0.18.
Most instances have already upgraded to 0.19. I encourage Instances running 0.18
to upgrade as soon as possible. Those instances include: - lemmy.world (upgrade
planned March 3rd) - sh.itjust.works (upgrade planned Feb 29th) -
lemmy.blahaj.zone (committed to upgrading by March 18th) - beehaw.org
[http://beehaw.org] (⚠️ unknown upgrade timeline) If you are a user on
lemmy.blahaj.zone or beehaw.org [http://beehaw.org], please let your instance
administrator know. In addition, if you are on a very small instance, please
check that it is running lemmy 0.19. You can do so by going to the community
list -> header ellipse icon -> instance sidebar -> version listed at end of
instance statistics. This deadline will only be extended if lemmy.world is
unable to upgrade by March 18. If you are self-hosting Voyager, you can continue
connecting to a v0.18 instance past this date by staying on Voyager 1.x (I will
be dropping lemmy 0.18 support as a major version bump).

What the hell… shouldn’t Voyager wait until the biggest instance upgrades before pulling this? Maybe I’ll end up on another app and not return…
19.X has been released a few months ago now.
18.X and 19.X manage login differently, it makes sense to only support the current version
Go to lemmy.world and scroll down. Says they’re on 18.5
I see… that’s good then. Lemmy world posted in January that they’d be upgraded to 0.19 by the end of the month. It’s now a month later.
Also, having a look at [email protected], LW and SJW will update before 18th of March, so it seems reasonable
