As it stands, there doesn’t seem to be an option to make the button for comments open the comments section on posts. It goes directly to leaving a comment.
There’s a bunch of options that you can change that button (button 1, etc) in the settings to, including removing it altogether. I click the comment button every time, then I remember that I have to click the body of the post to see comments (resulting in backing out and extra clicks). I can’t seem to get my muscle memory right on that - probably partially because I bounce back to Jerboa, where you do click the comment button to go to the comments.
As for visually, I like the button icon and comment count, so I think that’s perfect - I would just love for there to be a setting to change the action from leaving a comment to go to comments section. Maybe “view comments” and “leave comment” in the settings to differentiate.
Pretty please? ❤️
Hi, thanks for the feedback. I’ll change this in the next release (tonight). Going to also add a setting for anyone that likes the current behaviour.
Thanks so much! You’re truly awesome.
Yes! Also tying to get to the comments on just a picture post without any selftext is not intuitive at all.
Click the picture - opens the picture
Click the comments button - takes you to the add a comment
Have to find and click some special unmarked whitespace to just get to the comments.
The comments button should take you to into the comments. Then use the FAB to actually leave a comment.
Indeed, irritating. Not to mention that clicking on a picture only openes the picture. So to actually get to the comments you still have to make sure to click at some special place…
