Creationists have lied about the science since the days of the Snopes trial. They’ve never stopped. All that changes is what form their lies take. They lie because their position is based on their various religions, and their religious truths take precedence to them over the actual truth. To a missionary, lying in order to convince a potential convert is a holy act.
