One party controls the entire legislature in all but two states. In 28 states, the party in control has a supermajority in at least one legislative chamber — which means the majority party has so many lawmakers that they can override a governor’s veto. Not that that would be necessary in most cases, as only 10 states have governors of different parties than the one that controls the legislature

This can only end badly as conservatives seem to have no problem ruling over land in empty states.

      I meant what I said. Enjoy the life that thought process gives you. If no one felt strongly that their unverifiable beliefs were right, we’d still have a shit-ton of unjust hierarchies that we got rid of. John Brown was pretty certain about his beliefs, and I’m glad he didn’t check if they were verifiable, for example. (Though I’ll admit his strategy could have used improvement.). If you want to live a life where you wait until you’re 100% sure, you minimize your ability to affect change. (I don’t think it’s a coincidence that your argument consistently comes from people who are generally comfortable with the status quo.). Plus, if I’m ready for everything to go to shit and I’m wrong, maybe I’ve wasted some time. If you’re not ready for everything to go to shit and you’re wrong, you’re in trouble. Like I said in my last comment, I think our perspectives are different enough that no amount of discussion’s going to move us much. We obviously have vastly different experiences. I sincerely hope you enjoy the way of life your thinking creates, though it sounds awful to me personally.
