    I think this headline, and the administration’s characterization of it as such, is pretty misleading. This isn’t loan forgiveness as most people think of it, it’s an expansion of the already existing income based repayment rules. It’s really good news!!! It’s a big deal! But it’s not loan forgiveness as that term is colloquially used. People want their debt wiped out, not slightly expanded options for people under a certain income threshold to eventually being able to discharge their debt after one or two decades. It’s excellent news and these changes, especially around interest, are very much needed, but Biden, my dude, you know this isn’t what people mean when they talk about student loan forgiveness.
