If we are able to see lemmy.ml posts in lemmy.world We should be able to make comments on the post.

Making a new post should be for registered members.

I think ‘having to register and switching acc’ is one of the reasons why people are not interacting as much as they could.

Would be nice if devs answered as well.

Cheers.

Edit: you guys are right. I’m on liftoff and I can add an instance without having an account and browse it but when I have to make an comment it asks for account ; I thought liftoff is looking for the same post in another instance ( which may not have all the comments) But all it needed was an account.

Sorry guys I’m still wrapping my head around fediverse.

And I am from eben another instance and can also comment here. But I could also create a new post in other instances without the bed for an account there

And here I am from a different instance than both of you and OP replying to your comments!

I think OP is a bit confused, but they’ve got the spirit.

Oh man, I have 5 different accounts now. I did this because when I started on lemmy hexbear had some shit going on which led me to believe one needs to be registered and what not. Uffff , Maaan do I feel stupid now.

You’re not stupid. This federation thing is confusing to everyone when they first encounter it. Still confusing to a lot of us months later.

Don’t blame yourself buddy. We all gotta learn somehow

Yes, there are instances who block other instances. These two then are not federated and you would need accounts on both
