Thing is when I look at the comment from duck duck go I can see the curse word, but if I’m on the web app or on connect it’s replaced with removed, can admins actually change comments based on what instance I view them from?
I believe that’s something only admins can set for the entire instance.

You’re on Lemmy.ml which censors profanity. If you want to stop it, you gotta move to a different instance.
If I understand correctly on how the censor system works:
If you post something to a community on a censored instance, it’ll be censored for everyone.
If you view a non-censored post on a censored instance, it’ll only be censored for you.
