    We already have the laws needed to prevent the majority of mass shootings but unless we get better cops no law will meaningfully help and tyrants will use this as an excuse to just get rid of guns rather than maintain rights

    European countries have lots and lots of very restrictive gun laws. And shootings are very, very rare.

    Americans are not more mentally ill than Europeans. The obvious difference is access to weapons. Restrict the tools these killers use.

      The issue being presented in the comment you replied to is that someone was supoosed to take the perpatrator’s firearms away because of their mental health issue. Nobody did. It doesn’t matter one bit if something is against the law if nobody enforces it.

        My point is that the obvious difference is access to weapons in the US as compared to other countries. There are too many weapons floating around and they are too easy to gain access to. If he didn’t have access to weapons, he wouldn’t be able to use firearms in a mass shooting. No guns = no gun violence.
