Oh no. I really like 8bitDo and have bought a few things from them. But the Nintendo 64 controller stick from 8bitDo is not good. That’s a shame, being such a fundamental part of the N64 experience, I thought Analogue would go the extra mile with the controller. I guess they count on people using the controller ports.
Has 8BitDo made a stick like this before? I see that they’ve made a controller like the N64’s before, but that’s not the same kind of stick as this. This is like a GameCube controller’s stick, which is really good. It’s true that 8BitDo isn’t really known for their sticks, though, so hopefully they pull through.
I got their N64 Mod Kit, and I had really high expectations. But the stick feels more like the cheap GameCube stick replacements for Nintendo 64 controllers you can get on eBay. It’s definitely not the same as a Nintendo 64 controller. Hopefully this’ll be better!
