Rest assured, nothing will change for you

If I had a dollar for every time I’ve read that, only to have everything change 6-12 months later, I’d be rich.

pretty much always means the exact opposite. Time to move on everyone, it was fun while it lasted.

I was actually looking to switch to Raivo from 2FAS Auth. Now I’m going to be taking my time. 😬

Curious why you were planning to switch from 2FAS. Currently on Raivo and was wondering if 2FAS is just as good

I was interested in trying out Raivo and I thought I read a post not recommending 2FAS either here or before on Reddit.

It was on reddit if you search by 2FAS Auth there’s a thread in the privacy guides subreddit and someone mentions this:

OTP Auth would be a good alternative.

For me both (Raivo and OTP Auth) are trustworthy.

2FAS I wouldn’t use. Quote from their privacy policy:

In accordance with the terms and conditions of our Terms of Service, we collect and store the following Personal Information about our Users: Device ID (including brand, model, unique ID, operating system info, and storage state) Email address (for Users of 2FAS API, 2FAS Plugin, and 2FAS Vault Services) Phone number, if provided by you Cookies and analytics

Also does 2FAS have the ability to export the codes to a different app as I couldn’t find it be honest?

LOL I was going to switch to Raivo from Authy until I heard this, and then after some research settled on 2fas. Is it no good, or just doesn’t fit your use??? Now I’m hesitant again!

Raivo was never free software anyway: https://github.com/raivo-otp/ios-application/blob/master/LICENSE.md

Modification, duplication, and (re)distribution of the Services in binary or published format (“Processed Format”) for any purposes and/or reasons is strictly prohibited without the explicit permission from Raivo OTP. Permission for modification, duplication, and (re)distribution of the “Service” in Processed Format can be requested via GitHub.

I am using Aegis (free and OpenSource) on Android and I am pretty happy with it, but they don’t have iOS version.

If anyone’s looking to jump ship, here are a few alternatives. Bear in mind, though, these are not (yet) official PrivacyGuides recommendations. All of the apps are FOSS.
