We have a new series! Let’s discuss tasks, contestants and the show in general.

I like Rosie, but I’m also the only one in the household that can understand her easily. Husband also has cerebral palsy and a speech impediment so I’ve gotten use to it. He himself had trouble with her because the accent underneath it all. Would be nice if the subtitles weren’t auto generated nonsense though.
Andy Zaltzman’s bubbles task was a thing of beauty, it’s only right that he got the top marks.

Talking of, Emma Sidi’s abysmal throwing was wonderful (and Baba channelling Dr McCoy).
Jack Dee is turning out to be the mostly-joyless joy we knew he would be.

Only time will tell, but I think she’s dialed right into Alex’s nerdy little jokes. If that continues she may well dominate.
This is my first timely consumption of TM, so I am absolutely chuffed to be able to chat with anyone about this! I have a ton of friends who I think would enjoy this series, but I haven’t been able to get anyone to try it.
This slate of contestants is awesome. I loved how the first proper task slowly unfolded, and the whole show was great. Pretty sure that Jack is going to be my personal fave this series.
It’s hard to believe that the show still manages to stay fresh 18 series in.

Victoria Coren Mitchell did it, and she’s about the same “seriousness” (as comics go).
Very true. Lee already did it too. Rob Brydon and David Mitchell need to join in on the fun.
I don’t know anyone (I’m not an English person), but I already love them all, just like every previous series.
Jack Dee is a very well known face on British TV, in part for hosting Live at the Apollo before it became rotating hosts. Grumpy, dry and deadpan, he’s someone Alex has consistently mentioned when asked who he’d love to have on the show.
Rosie Jones has been on a lot of panel shows lately, and is quite a marmite taste - people seem to love or hate her. In my house we’re not a fan in large part because her punchlines are all shock humour, which doesn’t really work once you’re expecting it. I’m hoping she’ll grow as a comedian - Sarah Millican’s routine seemed to be 99% I’m fat earlier on but now she’s great.
I’ve not watched anything with Andy Zaltzman in and I don’t know the other two at all.
I have listened to Andy do the bugle podcast for years, and as an American he was the contestant I was most excited for.
