Russian propaganda machine was full force in America during the 2016 election and I’m sure it still is quite active to an extent in the states. What’s the general feel for Russian propaganda in Ukraine? Are there many Russian-supporting Ukrainians? Do many of them change opinions once Russia is in their towns?

Uhh I should note that I’m quite ignorant on the subject and if my question makes you irritated - I’m sorry I don’t mean to start anything.

Preface: I’m what you’d call a “Russian Jew” (really Polish, Ukrainian Russian). Born in Toretsk. Lived in Poland and Ukraine for many years.

I can only speak about my experience. Those of us from Eastern Ukraine didn’t necessarily have a lot of love for Kyiv. Most of the animosity comes from the feeling of being forgotten. Eastern areas used to be mining/manufacturing hubs a long time ago and now are quite poor. A lot of cultural things are very Russian based (TV,Music, etc).

All that said the general consensus from most of us out here hasn’t been “wanting Russia to free us”. In fact most of us have been very tired of the insane corruption brough upon by “Russian Puppets”. Ukraine in general has been very corrupt.
