China temporarily Interned people and took steps to Sinicize the Uyghur population. They didn’t completely destroy or eliminate Uyghur culture or religion and they didn’t do mass killings.

Comparing that to what is happening in Gaza (and the West Bank) is Apples and oranges and it gravely minimizes the absolute carnage being caused by Israel right now

Several countries, including the US, UK, Canada and the Netherlands, have accused China of committing genocide - defined by international convention as the “intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group”.

The declarations follow reports that, as well as interning Uyghurs in camps, China has been forcibly mass sterilising Uyghur women to suppress the population, separating children from their families, and attempting to break the cultural traditions of the group.

The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has said China is committing “genocide and crimes against humanity”.

The UK parliament declared in April 2021 that China was committing a genocide in Xinjiang.

A UN human rights committee in 2018 said it had credible reports that China was holding up to a million people in “counter-extremism centres” in Xinjiang.

The only one comparing the two is you. Both can fit the definition of genocide and be horrific without devaluing the other.

Guess I don’t know how to format quotes properly.

Oh wow US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken says it’s a genocide and he’s got a lot of credibility right he knows when he sees and genocide and he always calls it out. Oh wait he’s actively arming and defending the Israeli gov while they systematically murder 100s of thousands of civilians and 10s of thousands of children in front of our eyes.

          I wonder if he’s biased? 🤔

The burden of proof is on the person making the claim. Where’s your evidence that it’s real?

Exactly you made the claim that it wasn’t real. So provide proof. Otherwise fuck off back into your hole troglodyte.

That’s extremely not how logic works.

If you tell me that there’s a teapot floating out in a particular point in outer space, and I say there isn’t, you’re the one who has to provide evidence of it. I don’t have to provide evidence there isn’t a teapot, I can just dismiss the claim on the basis that it’s made without evidence. If you say a genocide is happening somewhere, and can’t provide any evidence of it, I’m free to dismiss the claim since it was made without evidence, and I don’t have to provide evidence to justify that dismissal.

This is no different from a theist trying to shift the burden of proof onto an atheist through rhetorical trickery.
