I see what you’re saying. Essentially, that’s a ban on renovictions while still allowing renovations in such a way that prevents landlords from jacking up prices. Seems reasonable.
I think if a landlord wants to do renovations they should be allowed, but the tenants should have first dibs on returning at the same rental rates.
Landlords only do renovictions so they can jack up the rates.
That’s why I’m suggesting the law should allow tenants to come back at the same rental rate. Or maybe a maximum of 3-5% increase.
Not the stupid increases of 80-150% or more some people see.
