Both are neat I just don’t think you’re going to get the average Joe on xmpp nearly as easily as Matrix. That in and of itself is probably the protocols biggest selling point.
I prefer xmpp too, but it looks like she was too good for this world.
I actually host xmpp and matrix, I prefer xmpp, but most of my friends already have matrix, so I’m not going to shove xmpp down their throats.
