“We have not encouraged or enabled strikes outside of Ukraine, but ultimately Ukraine has to make decisions for itself about how it’s going to conduct this war,” said Blinken, opening up the possibility of Western military materiel being used against Russian units located beyond Ukraine’s borders.
This is actually pretty big. Kiev driving 2 himars to the north one with gmlrs and one atacms variant and the Belgorod region is pretty much f-ed
Dumb that it is ruled out to begin with
No it didn’t.

I think when a senior official like this says something, it’s pretty close to being policy. It’s kind of like a “soft launch” of the policy. He wouldn’t have said it if the US didn’t plan on going through with it.
Maybe I’m jaded and wrong, but I will believe it when I see it
You certainly have every right to being skeptical of the US pulling its finger out by this point in the war given the pace they’ve been going so far.

Russia got the message loud and clear.
Too bad. They should have heard from Mr ATACMS himself.
I believe this was Mr. ATACMS publicist informing them of his arrival
Coming from the guy who represents the US on the world stage it means something.
It would if they announced it, but hey, maybe I’m wrong.
I would like to be wrong about these things more often
