    No, sorry, that was Vidocq:

First feature film shot with the new Sony digital 1080p 24 fps cameras to reach the screen (a year before Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)).

If you went to a digital showing you even got an additional image of Anakin’s robot hand taking Padmé’s at their wedding.

And I think there was a typo in Watto’s subtitles in the German version.

The digital version also added sparks to Jango’s jetpack during the arena fight, to show it was malfunctioning.

I wonder if this explains why back in the early pirating days, this movie was leaked over 2 weeks before release. Being digital from the start probably made it easier to circulate the screeners.

I doubt that was the case since a lot of films at that time (including Phantom menace) went through digital intermediate process that makes the camera it was filmed on irellevant for this discussion. The whole phantom menace was scanned and from that point on it went through vfx, coloring and other postproduction stages the same way as a film that was shot digitally.

I’m pretty sure* the cameras at the time filmed in 1080p, which means all higher resolution versions have to be upscaled.

*I read this once and can’t be bothered to fact check
