    The idea of the “war of northern agression” is bs. My father used to say this. Codespeak for we want to keep doing what we were doing (being racist). As someone who grew up in the south, (not capitalized) I know the game and I don’t play it anymore. Racism and the idea of superiority are built into the language and it is all that is left. They lost. I always like to remind myself that Obama was President longer than the Confederacy existed. Thank you for listening and you conservatives can grow to see the light like me. If you are lucky enough. I don’t know everything but I do know some things for sure. Oh yes also, Southern Baptist equals white power.

    If you look into the politics of 1840-1860 it’s fairly obvious slavery is the primary issue. “State’s Rights”, okay, specifically the right of states to base their economy on slavery. Check out the Compromise of 1850 for example. Southerners were eager to expand slavery to new territories like New Mexico and Arizona.
