It can’t be worse. Next to Alien I think the Matrix has been the most poorly treated IP in memory.

I don’t think Star Wars can qualify since it’s had a sprinkling of good stuff mixed in with the mountains of schlock.

There’s good schlock and there’s bad schlock. OG trilogy had a bit of both but after that it was very hit and miss.

Yes…I liked T3 sort of. The ending was on point at least…boy it’s been a bad ride since then though.

I thought Salvation was pretty ok. My expectations were not very high, but it didn’t feel bad.

Yeah, I wasn’t a fan of the ‘love conquers all” direction we went with the last one. Hope they fold in some more inspired nineties postmodern sci fi elements/themes

Tbf, they kinda did that in the original too, but at least it had the rest of the movie to make up for it

Not at all. At the heart of the first movie there’s the story of Neo and Trinity falling in love and the love of Neo and rest of the crew and how he learns to accept and love his true self. The second movie is about the nature of love when committing to someone else and the lengths one can go to save, help and free them. The third movie is about acknowledging that love is real and everyone deserves it - even the machines and so Neo essentially learns to love all the machines because he realises they love their children too.

That’s the point of the Marrix though - love is what allows us to find enough common ground with the machines to move forward together and stop the endless war. It’s been the theme of all the movies.

I was watching a clip of the Architect mentioning they were on the 6th iteration and that the population of Zion is rebuilt every time. I thought it would have been cool to focus on a character who manages to find remnants of the previous versions with someone’s written account and either they go mad or start questioning if they’re in another matrix.

If you look at it from the viewpoint of the Wachowski sister purposely making it shit it’s actually enjoyable. She straight up tells you at the beginning of the movie that it was going to be made with or without her, so she chose to take the piss. I didn’t understand until it turned into a heist movie with all the tropes halfway through, and then I was amazed that she was able to get this movie made and released in the state it’s in. That movie is art.

Instead of a payphone he’s gonna use an applevision pro. And instead of the matrix he’s gonna enter the metaverse. Instead of that gross food he’s gonna eat takis. Instead of red pills and blue pills it will be coke or Pepsi.

He’s also going to get a real world cross over guide to setting up payments and renting fake property. He will gladly had over all his person data for the benifit of the company since he knows who the real good guys were all along.

“If it’s not directed by a trans person, it’s not technically the Matrix; it’s just sparkling cyberpunk.”
