We’ve known for years that the owner is a lying, creepy, out of touch dipshit and that it’s a very flawed car and the company will cut costs to save money on safety items, every time.

Electric vehicles with drive assist are awesome and are the future, but there are alternatives, especially if you have money, which a lot of Tesla customers do. And they’re not particularly well built; how many of these do you think will be on the road 20 years from now? And now we’ve seen how Elaine runs their companies, why the hell would anybody put their trust in their products?

If you’ve bought a Tesla in the last five or so years, you’re a damn goober in my eyes. That’s my hot take, prepared for being called poor and other sodium, tear filled comments from fools whose opinions don’t matter. You are the hardcore, foaming at the mouth Segway fan from the 2000s, have at me lol.

Update: The teary eyed, sweaty fingered responses to this are predictably hilarious. I’ve been called a guy that eats 4 pizzas a week in another old thread because of this, a cunt, a tool, a douche, a couple people spent their energy to tell me they don’t understand me spending my energy posting this, some people are telling me something about Tesla or Elaine living in my head rent free. All genuinely pathetic responses, so GG lol. Cheers.

I hate Musk with a white hot intensity but I want Tesla to succeed. I think it’s important to stop burning oil, and I think the traditional car industry would drop EV production like a hot potato if the Tesla threat went away. I drive a Ford PHEV and I have a short commute so I buy gas a couple times a year. It was the better option for me, but I want people to keep buying teslas. So, they’re not tools, they’re smart, good-looking, and wonderful dancers.

Meh… Tesla has done it’s job pushing us to EVs. The big players all have an EV that’s competative to superior than what Elon is offering.

It’s a self sustaining cycle outside of Tesla now.

Yeah. Total phony and a very dangerous piece of shit. Believe me I hate rooting for his shitty car company but with electric cars at least there’s the possibility of running them from carbon free sources like wind and solar. I always thought the hyper loop was all hype no loop.

Electric cars / Tesla aren’t doing anything to save the environment. Their only purpose is to keep the car industry going a bit longer.

How is the energy produced that goes into the vehicles? What about the workers in the “we’ll coup who we like” countries which dig up the resources to build the batteries? What about all the resources to build the things? What happens to the cars after the battery is done?

We should instead be thinking about building a better world where we don’t need to rely on cars to go to meaningless and harmful jobs. Cities should be more hostile to cars in general, and build environments which are more pedestrian / bike / remote worker friendly.

I get it, I do. In fact I’d say I agree wholeheartedly with your third paragraph. But I reject the idea that imperfect steps in the right direction aren’t worth taking. We can’t scrap the suburbs and create a walkable city overnight. It will take time and concerted effort. In the meantime I charge my car with sunshine. About 15 minutes worth is enough to get to work. You won’t convince me that that is not better than burning a quart of gasoline to achieve the same result.
