The review embargo falls on monday 16th october. There are seldom review embargos that falls one week pre release date.

I don’t know. These few days every company give for such embargos are always to late for preordering physical versions and someone should never preorder a digital version. You could now guess an ill intention like in case cyberpunk 2077 that gives only pc version for reviewing, but that short embargo happens on a lot good games as well. What more important is, to give reviewers enough time to review the game.

The embargo is to stop people from deciding not to buy based on bad reviews. If they were confident of good reviews, there would be no need. It’s also a method of control over the reviewers.

There is no reason for a review embargo except to try to sell bad games. Not all games with an embargo are bad, but that is just hedging their bets.

Of course there is a reson for a review embargo. If you don’t have one the fastes reviewer, probably with the shortest playtime would be release their review first to get clicks. It’s mainly there to give everyone an appropriate time for their review.

Fair logic for most developers however I’d say where the Spider-Man games are concerned, Insomniac have earned my trust. Loved both the Spider-Man games and got my full moneys worth from them so I had zero hesitation when preordering lol

Trust should go both ways. They have review embargoes. They could allow pre download before purchase, with a small demo, but they choose not to.
