    if its not long term its not a valid study. we have already learned in many previous attempts that if people know the benefit is temporary and arbitrary that they behave differently than if they know the income is going to be stable and “forever”

    shocker, when its “extra money” it pays some bills, buys extra stuff, is not used for new schooling or other long term goals as often. When its “part of your income” is when people start going to school or re-thinking thier life balance.

    These sort of short-term fixed-period programs won’t really give you much data about how people will actually behave if given indefinite inflation-adjusted consistent basic income.
