I used to at least be able to talk over the mic online. Was always running my mouth in TF2 and shit.

Now, I go into VRChat, enter a room full of people and it feels the same as if I walked into a crowded store giving me hella anxiety. I hate it.

If you’re on PC, stick with PC only worlds. They tend to only have adults/sane people. Much less chaotic.

They’ve also added proximity options to limit voices to just the people around you

… I just realized this isn’t the autism community but the above should still help some!

      You are just… Everywhere.

Not complaining, I’m just impressed. I feel like I’m in Lemmy home when you’re around.

I’m currently trying to get assessed for ASD - I’ve had days where I involuntarily go non-verbal and feel pain whenever I try to speak.

There’s a large comorbidity (overlap, basically) between ADHD and ASD - and I think this is more of an ASD thing than an ADHD sort of thing.

Once, many moons ago, I read a term that someone used to describe themselves for having ADHD and ASD, but wasn’t the term “neurodivergent” since they didn’t like its companion term “neurotypical”. I wish that I could remember what term they used, because saying AuDHD is still terribly wordy especially spoken out loud, and I don’t have the H part.

I have taken to saying that I have triple A, Autism, ADHD, and Anxiety, but that’s even more wordy since it requires explanation.

The H in ADHD is always used now. I’ve got a diagnosis ADHD and don’t have the H either. It’s just what it’s called now.

I’m new to the ADHD party, in part because I assumed I didn’t have it because I was never H. After reading up on it more though, I think it refers to mental hyperactivity, not just physical hyperactivity. I was never the kid that always spoke up out of turn or had trouble sitting still, but I’m definitely the one that starts/stops projects out of the blue and can’t get to sleep because too many thoughts.
