“The best thing since sliced bagels and bread!”
"Two proposals I’d like to see 1) GME should work with Computershare so they (CS) can serve as a custodian for IRA’s, and 2) revise the contract w/ Computershare w/ respect to their DirectStock plan.
“Truly awesome. Truly legendary. Not “awesome” or “legendary” like those darn kids on my lawn - which they are in their own right - but… well, you know what I mean.”
“If you write a hit song for Britney Spears, it’s worth several million dollars. Just one song! And it might have taken you two hours to do it. It’s like mining for gold. It takes a lot of skill and a lot of technique.”
“Who do you think made the first stone spears? The Asperger guy. If you were to get rid of all the autism genetics, there would be no more Silicon Valley.”
How do we go about forming an activist investor group?
I have seen the idea circulating but know nothing about how it would actually work.off the top of my head, some questions about what is it and how does it work:
- What is required to start such a group?
- How does an activist investor group govern itself?
- What would a governance structure look like?
- How does somebody become a member?
- How do members get their interests represented in the group?
- Would there be voting mechanisms?
- Are lawyers required?
- Which country or jurisdiction would this group reside in and would that have any implications for other international members?
I don’t expect anyone to necessarily know the answers to all these questions or to even answer this, this is just what comes to my mind when I hear about it. I like the idea, it sounds promising. But a certain amount of education will be required.
Great list of starting questions!
Would you be interested to make a post over on https://lemmy.whynotdrs.org/c/activist_investing and we can try to flesh some of these out?
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: [email protected]
Good bot!
Ah… you can take the users out of reddit, but not the reddit out of the users :p
Hahahaha! I responded like that without even thinking about it. Old habits die hard.
Yeah, great questions. Let’s work on them.

Can you fucking monkeys please just stay on Reddit. You ruined my favorite investing sub(s) with your eco chamber uneducated autistic screeching already. Stay there.
no
Lemmy allows you to block communities as a whole, if you choose to - so it is pretty easy to avoid the conversation here if you would like.
Or, you could just stay with the other chucklefucks in the ruined investing subreddits.
How were your cheerios this morning?
Amazing, way less drool in them than anyone investing in GME I imagine.
No way man! They’re ruined.
Like Chives said Lemmy makes it easy to block communities and I think entire instances. It’s pretty great!
