Holy crap. Glad I got the disc Playstation so I can go back to buying used games instead of relying on Extra.
For a subscription that doesn’t offer any first party titles at launch, this is a very big ask.
Feels like Sony have been making some weird decisions lately. PS+ price increase, that weird Remote Play device, not showing up to Gamescom, etc.
Yeah, you’re right, it’d make a biiig difference if we ever got to play a first party title at launch. I was transferred to the highest tier when it rolled out, but I haven’t actually used it that much. The back catalog hasn’t really caught my eye much, I don’t have use for the streaming (or the Internet for it). My subscription runs out in March or something, and I may let it lapse like you. Would be the first time in…years…I don’t know how long. I’m just not seeing additional value for the price hike.
This price jump is insane. They’re already getting $10/game when bought new, and the games given out with this price hike sucks.
Cancelled my PS+ Extra so it doesn’t renew in June and I’ll likely not sub again.
I’m out.
This is too much, I can’t justify the spending anymore. Will only get games that I will actually play going forward. Multiplayer is never my thing so there’s that.
I can kind of justify a $135/yr cost of extra as right now there are a handful of games on the service I have interest in that could easily sum up beyond that amount, but many of them were there when I subscribed last year and I never actually got around to them.
I’m going to drop from a year of Premium to Extra, and if I don’t play more than a couple games from the service in the next year, I’ll just drop to essential.
